Hall Cliffe School has been working with Mick and the On Track Music team since September 2015. As a specialist setting for young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues we were keen to work with a charity that shared our aims of supporting the holistic development of our young people. Many of our young people have not previously had positive experiences in education and we strive to engage them in creative ways. Ontrack music has consistently engaged some of our most hard to reach young people with many not only improving their musical skills but expressing their feelings and emotions through song writing. We have seen progress or improvement in a range of indicators including attendance, resilience and emotional literacy as well as playing the saxophone guitar or organ. Working with Ontrack music has been a consistently positive experience. I am unhesitating in my support for their future work. I believe that their approach to supporting young people is highly effective, as it does what other facilitators can only dream of doing – it engages them wholeheartedly in an evidence based program.
Since September 2016 The Learning Centre students have been working with Marie from the On Track Music team. She has been invaluable to us and has really helped the students discover and build upon their musical talents. Some of our students have gone from being complete novices to being able to read and play musical instruments they have never seen before, which is such an incredible achievement. The students who attend The Learning Centre are ones who have emotional, social and behavioural difficulties, and Marie has manage to engage with every child who has had the opportunity to work her, they trust her and put a lot of effort into their sessions. The students all look forward to the day that Marie comes in. We would highly recommend this program to other establishments as it is highly effective and great value.
On Track Music has provided us with outstanding peripatetic weekly music teaching. The children interact well with Marie, and this shows with how engaged the children are when they have their music lessons. The children have progressed very well with the curriculum and Marie provides effective feedback to school staff. Marie prepared the children for our Christmas carol concert which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
